My name is Monica Holt.  I am the mother of two and I’ve lived in Kenosha county for over 7 years.  We moved up here from downtown Chicago and haven’t looked back since.  I love the quiet of Southeast Wisconsin.

I’ve been an athlete since age 5, when I began taking gymnastics.  I was a competitive gymnast from ages 7-12.  I then went on to try springboard diving in high school.  I finished 11th in the state of Illinois my senior year and landed a scholarship at Illinois State University.  I spent all 4 years of college diving and majored in biology with a minor in chemistry and sociology.  I was also trained by various strength and conditioning trainers over those 4 years and picked up a wealth of training knowledge just by following their programs.

Once I finished college I moved up to Chicago.  I continued working out at various gyms between my workplace and where I lived.  In 2001, I met my wonderful husband.  He had done natural bodybuilding shows in the past and convinced me to give a fitness competition a try.  I’d always been interested in the fitness competitions and often watched them on TV.  The competition included a swimsuit round and fitness routine. He entered the bodybuilding competition and I entered the fitness competition.  I had a blast doing it.  I loved making up my routine, doing gymnastics again, one-arm push-ups, etc.  My gymnastics and dance background helped out immensely.  I ended up winning my first show!  The feeling was euphoric.

Though I chose not to do another show after my first one (A LOT of time and mental/physical energy are involved), I never stopped enjoying my workouts.  I exercised through both of my pregnancies and was literally on my treadmill the day before each girl was born. I feel like exercising (correctly) while pregnant is quite helpful through that time period.

After my second child was born I wanted to fast forward the process of getting back into shape.  I decided to do a 12 week intense training/healthy eating program.  I began 3 months post-pregnancy. I never strayed from the healthy eating or the 6 day a week workouts and ended up 12lbs lighter and at least 2 inches smaller on every part of my body.  It was an awesome feeling on the last day of that challenge.  I was at my pre-baby weight and looked and felt fantastic.

Now that you know a little bit about my background, you can see that I’ve been exercising all of my life….with no plans of stopping.  I LOVE seeing results and love the idea of motivating people to reach their goals, no matter how large or small they are.  I am hopeful that you and I will be a perfect fit and can be the team that reaches those goals that you’ve set for yourself!!

Though I am specializing in women's health, I do have male clients and enjoy training them as well.
